Invention Disclosure Bulletins
From time to time I come across the idea for a
neat invention. Or, to be more precise, an idea
for something that sounds like a neat invention.
The often occurs when I too busy to actually
pursue it to discover its potential and potential
weaknesses. In the past I would just forget about
it. Now, I'm just writing up a short description
to prevent others from patenting it in the future.
Many major companies run invention disclosure
bulletins to prevent others from patenting their
ideas. This is just my quick version.
These
bulletins are not intended to lay claim to
inventing any idea. It's entirely likely that
someone else thought of them first. It's even more
likely that there's just something fundamentally
wrong with the idea. I'm not doing the slightest
bit of research into the prior art or the
feasibility. The only goal here is to prevent
someone else from claiming the idea later.
If
you know of a publication or area of research that
is similar to what I write here, I hope you'll
write me. I'll include the pointers here.
